Art of Emily...

Those of you you that have visited us in our physical space know that we are housed in the same building as the D.I.Y. trouble-maker and trendsetter, international icon --Emily the Strange. We're thrilled that the creators / designers of Emily's have a new 'Art of' book out by Dark Horse Publications. So, happy new year everyone and for those of you listening upstairs--Congrats, Emily team! ... rumor has it an art of Emily show is brewing.... mmm, more on that and other upcoming shows very soon!


Says Joy Fleishhacker of the School Library Journal, "Dark Horse also recently published The Art of Emily the Strange (December 2009), a handsome hardcover volume packed full of images rendered by Emily’s creators as well as other contributors. In his introduction, artist Winston Smith appropriately calls the book “a compendium of vivid visions and fantastic worlds.” Emily enthusiasts will certainly be intrigued by the variety of artistic styles, mediums, and interpretations, which range from stickers to large-size psychedelic paintings to the “Lichtenstrange”-patterned endpapers.
